Release

Conflicts - neighbour frowned when elieen introduced herself, unfriendly attitude towards her and rude. (pg. 140)
- conflict with husband, philip as she forgot to take his suit from the dry-cleaners, irritated from his tone. (pg. 141)
- neighbour act a big hole in the guava tree because of petty reasons and it was in elieen's property. (pg. 141)
- conflict with man neighbour over fence as it was in elieen's property. (pg. 142)
- elieen unhappy with philip as he doesn't care about her feelings. (pg. 143)
- the policeman attending to elieen did not seem to try investigate the problem but seemed impatient, detached and did not do anything. (pg. 145)

Climax - when elieen tried to get help from the policeman but did not show signs of helpfulness. she was irritated by her personal problems and wanted someone to understand. (pg. 145)

Resolution - Ironic, elieen did not hint to the man(pg. 147) to kill the puppies she merely said to take care of them, but instead the mean 'took care of them' with the spanner. (pg. 147-148)

Characters:

Elieen - friendly (pg. 134) went over to say hi to newly moved in neighbours.
- responsible (pg. 141) tried to get philip's suit.
- particular (pg. 141) about neighbour for destroying the guava tree.

Philip - selfish (pg. 141) though elieen was pregnant he ask her to mive around so inconviently.
- don't care attitude (pg. 141) even when the guava tree was damaged he did not seems to care much.
- career-minded (pg. 143) doesn't have time for petty issuses and thinks about work.

Neighbours - defensive (pg. 139) a mere question and she snarls.
- unfriendly (pg. 140) when elieen tried to introduce herself the neighbours doesn't seem to be enthusiastic and frowns.
- rude (pg. 140) not meaning elieen is a dog but saying she is alike because of her pregnancy.
- unreasonable (pg. 141) cuts a big hole in the tree because of personal dislike.
cold-blooded (pg. 147-148) doesn't hesitate to slience the puppies.

Interesting part about the story - the oart where elieen calls the policeman to investigate about the whining puppies but is reluctant to. Elieen is not only irritated by the man's attitude but irritated by everything revoling around her that is important. There is where we know about her problems and how she is going to solve them. (pg. 145)
