Sundowner

Sundowner is a story where the main character, Mr Das, a manager of a rubber plantation in sinagapore, welcomes changes as he was the one who suggested them to a houseboy Aman. Aman keeps on calling Mr Das 'sir' and Mr Das did not like the way on how Aman call him that as he had just become a manager of a rubber plantation and the way Aman call him sir was related to the past when the britsh was ruling singapore. Mr Das then went out for a walk and saw the workers on the plantation staying in their workers quarters and noticed that it was dirty and not suitable for staying. So Mr Das attempt to change the workers quarters and everything with it. So for Mr Das, change to him is welcoming.
